WHAT IS CHIROPRACTIC?
Chiropractic specialises in the diagnosis, treatment and management of biomechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system (bones, muscles, and joints of the body), particularly involving the spine and their effects on the nervous system and general health.
Chiropractic aims to ensure that the brain and the body are communicating to it's optimal best without any interference through hands on manipulation of the spine along with aftercare advice.
A Chiropractor is a health care practitioner regulated by the general chiropractic council (GCC). Chiropractors uses a range of techniques such as a hands-on approach (McTimoney and Diversified) or via tools such as an activator.
Here at Allinson Chiropractic Craig used the McTimoney technique which is a whole body approach rather than treating only specific areas that may be presenting with symptoms. The reason for this approach is that pain and discomfort in a certain part of the body may be caused elsewhere in the musculoskeletal system and that, to get optimal health, the musculoskeletal system needs to work together. Craig will aim to find the misalignment underlying the symptom that the patient is presenting with.
The McTimoney method aims to correct misalignments of the body using a specific light, gentle quick adjustments. When receiving the treatment most patients experience no or little discomfort.
